Auckland has two main airports: Auckland Airport (AKL) and Ardmore Airport (ACM).
Auckland Airport (AKL)
Auckland Airport (AKL), opened in 1966, is New Zealand's largest airport, a major international hub and a significant player in the country's economy. It handles a vast number of flights and passengers, boasting multiple terminals and numerous amenities.
Getting to the city centre from Auckland Airport is easy. The AirportLink bus offers frequent services directly to the city centre. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal, and car rental services are also on-site.
Ardmore Airport (ACM)
Ardmore Airport is a smaller airport primarily used for general aviation and regional flights. It mainly caters to domestic flights and isn't as prominent for international travel.
