Tehran offers a unique experience in every season, but spring (March-May) and autumn (September-October) are generally considered the best times to visit. During spring, the weather is mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 22°C, perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Autumn brings a similar climate and stunning scenery, with the added bonus of fewer crowds.
Low Season in Tehran
For a less crowded and more budget-friendly experience, consider visiting during the low season (November-February). Although temperatures can dip below freezing, the Gold Museum of Iran, showcasing a vast collection of exquisite artifacts, can still be enjoyed indoors, with average temperatures of 6°C to 8°C.
High Season in Tehran
The high season, coinciding with the Nowruz festival (around March 20th), marks the Persian New Year. The city is vibrant during the two-week long celebrations, temperatures hover around 17°C, and the atmosphere is festive. It's a great time to experience traditional Iranian culture, but expect higher prices and more crowds. Be aware that many places might be closed for the celebrations.
