This was the second worst flight I have had after an air Asia flight to Bali. The space in economy was atrocious not only breadth but width of the seats. Eating was made difficult so we took turns at eating. Getting up to go to the toilet was another nightmare. One of the Qantas flight attendants was talking openly with a passenger as we were waiting to disembark. He was stating that NZ was horrific to a passenger visiting and stated that he wouldn’t visit there as was too boring. I found this highly unprofessional. My flight was delayed and the connections of an hour from international flight to Melbourne onwards to Wellington was missed? Is it within regulations to allow a booking that has an hour connecting time? I was placed on another flight which sent me via Auckland. We weren’t told be anyone where to go we happened to bump into a Qantas representative who told us that we had been moved onto Melbourne-Auckland-Wellington flight. When we got to the gate the staff there were rude and unhelpful. We were not given details on our flight to Wellington from Auckland. On asking the gate staff she told us to see Jetstar and that’s all she knew. When asking if our bags are on the flight she told us that they were. Arriving into Auckland our bags were not located on the flight. With another tight connection to Wellington we proceeded to wait until the last bag had been collected then realising ours were not on. Checking with baggage handling the bags had not been scanned at Melbourne airport. The Mensies staff were the best to deal with the gentleman on the baggage counter was very helpful and polite. I won’t be flying with Qantas again. If I want to fly budget again I will. Even Jetstar their umbrella company performs better. So disappointed.
